Is it better to make car videos in Canva or CapCut, or use VroomVideo?
A template editor gives you full control and costs about an hour per car once you know it; the motion is a zoom or a slide over a still. VroomVideo costs $9 and three minutes per car, generates a real camera move from each photo, and reads the price and mileage from the listing so nothing is retyped. Use the editor for one-offs; use VroomVideo for the lot.
Side by side
| Canva / CapCut template | VroomVideo | |
|---|---|---|
| Time per car | About an hour, once practised | About three minutes |
| Cost | Subscription, plus your hour | $9 per car, first video free |
| Motion | Zoom or slide over the still | A camera move generated from each photo, bounded to stay true to the car |
| Numbers on screen | Typed by you | Read from the listing |
| Photo selection | You choose | Chosen and ordered to tell the story: car, power, mileage, option, price |
| Music | Your library, cut by hand | A matching track, cuts on the beat |
| Branding | Set up once per template | Logo, colour, font and dealer card on every video |
| Formats | Re-lay out for each | 9:16, 4:5 and 16:9 included |
| Control | Total | Style, format, colour, font, voiceover; not frame-by-frame |
Where the hour goes
Choosing the photos, cropping the dealer frame, placing each photo, setting the zoom, typing the price and mileage, finding a track, moving cuts to the beat, exporting three sizes. None of it is hard. All of it is per car, and it is the tenth car of the week that does not get done.
When the editor wins
- A one-off with a specific idea: a before-and-after, a montage of the whole lot, a seasonal promo.
- Footage you already shot.
- A layout your brand guide dictates to the pixel.
Questions
Can I edit a VroomVideo video afterwards in CapCut?
Yes. You download an MP4 and own it. Trim it, add a caption sticker, put it in a longer edit.
Does a template editor's zoom look bad?
It looks like a slideshow. A Ken Burns zoom does not change the angle on the car; a generated camera move does, within a few degrees, which is what reads as video.
